Title:Administrative Assistant II-School Based Elementary  and Middle School Treasurer

Reports to: Principal

Terms of Employment: 12 Months

Salary: Pay Grade 59 Salary: High School Pay grade 61

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

 

Employees in this class perform responsible administrative duties in supporting an administrative official or serving as a program administrator.  This class is distinguished from the Administrative Assistant I level in the size, scope and complexity of program coupled with the degree of responsibility for the program assigned.  Employees are responsible for carrying out a variety of administrative functions.  Functions may include independently organizing and implementing administrative support for a large or complex program area, serving as a staff assistant in gathering analyzing and reporting information for various administrative programs and projects or establishing new processes and policies as part of program growth and expansion.  Employees are responsible for coordinating activities with students, school officials, employees, or general public.  An expert understanding of the departmental rules, regulations, goals and services are required in performing a wide variety of administrative or financial tasks.  Work requires employees to independently handle management of program activities including long-range planning activities.  Work affects the quality of administrative support provided to the assigned area and other organizational segments which work must be integrated.  Decisions affect timeliness and effectiveness of actions and reflect on the image of the entire organization.  Work requires complex problem resolution regarding systems and unprecedented program situations.  Guides may include a variety of written manuals and instructions; however, employee is accountable for the assigned program tasks on a daily and overall basis.  Effective judgment is required in making decisions that impact internal and external organizational controls.  Employees frequently are expected to have a high degree of resourcefulness and creativity in adapting guidelines and solutions for problems. This employee is responsible to a senior level leader or department head and is evaluated through observations, conferences, and the quality and effectiveness of work completed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.  Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a typewriter or computer terminal, and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Some positions may be required to take and transcribe dictation and minutes.
